One of the most common problems with dog dental health is gum disease. It’s especially common in older dogs, but can show up in dogs of all ages. 

Here are common symptoms to look out for:

  • Bleeding gums
  • Blood water bowl or on toys
  • Pawing at the mouth
  • Loss of appetite
  • Drooling
  • Loose teeth
  • Bad breath

How to Check Your Dog’s Dental Health at Home

One of the best things you can do for your dog’s dental health is check it yourself at home! 

Here’s how to check:

Get your dog in a comfortable position and lift up their gums on either side of their face. 

You’ll want to first take a close look at their teeth. If you see any plaque build up, let us know! Plaque can cause harm to not only your dog’s dental health, but also pose a risk to their overall wellbeing. 

You’ll also want to take a look at your dog’s gums. If they red, inflamed, or look angry, this could be a sign that your pet’s dental health needs some attention.
